Sign the Petition Thanking Gov. Whitmer for taking meaningful action on climate.

UPDATE THURSDAY FEB 14: The Michigan Senate followed the House by voting today to overturn the executive order reorganizing the MDEQ that created the Office of Climate and Energy. Fortunately, this will not stop the Governor from entering Michigan into the U.S. Climate Alliance. Please sign this petition showing support for the kind of change we need to fight climate change.

Join us in thanking Gov. Whitmer for entering Michigan into the U.S. Climate Alliance, a bipartisan coalition of governors from 19 other states that have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement. We applaud this kind of bold action - it's exactly what Michigan needs to accelerate action on climate change.

Governor Whitmer:

Your directive to enter Michigan into the U.S. Climate Alliance is exactly what is needed to jumpstart Michigan's action to address the worse effects of a warming climate. We wholeheartedly thank you for taking this action and pledge to work with you to rapidly move Michigan towards a clean energy economy.

Thank you for working to protect our air, water, and land for us and future generations.

Read more about the executive orders that were voted down that would have reorganized the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to include offices that address water, climate, and energy.

Wonderful to see climate action on the states level. We are the hope for the future since the Federal government under that fool in office is determined to take us all to the next Mass Extinction event. Thank you for taking action on our now fragile climate.

Damn republicans, what are they thinking? “F*** you I’ve got mine”? Are they so stupidly greedy that they just can not comprehend what is going on? Simple situational awareness is lacking which should disqualify them from holding public office!

THANK YOU! For picking up where our federal government has failed on THE most important issue of the decade. (Because there is no Planet B)

Protecting our environment, and thus human health, should be a top priority. Kudos to Gov. Whitmer for earning my vote for this kind of action.

I support all efforts to be part of the Paris Climate Agreement, whether it is state by state, county by county, city by city, block by block, or individual by individual. Trump does not stand for the majority of US residents who recognize the immediacy of the climate crisis and the need to act.

Thank you for what you are doing. I wish you would ban round-up. Our food and water is being poisoned by that crap.
