The Climate Change Book club, hosted by the WMU Climate Change Working Group, welcomes anyone interested in reading and learning more about the science, politics, economics, sociology of climate change and the way it is portrayed in different parts of our society.
May's discussion is centered on Heather McTeer Toney's Before the Street Lights Come On: Black America's Urgent Call for Climate Solutions. More on the book:
McTeer Toney brings her background in politics, community advocacy, and leadership in environmental justice to this revolutionary exploration of why and how Black Americans are uniquely qualified to lead national and global conversations around systems of racial disparity and solutions to the climate crisis.
A complete list of past readings and a future schedule can be found on the Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition's website. You are encouraged to please consider making your purchase at a local bookstore.
This is an open group. You can invite others to join – send their emails to Allen Webb to get them on the list.
