Stand Up for Clean Energy in Western Wayne — Van Buren Township Board of Trustees
Tuesday, September 1, 2026
Clean Energy

On September 1, advocates are gathering in Van Buren Township to support the Stag Horn Battery Storage System (BSS), a project that could store nearly 200 MW of clean energy.
Fossil-fuel-funded disinformation is driving opposition, and we need supporters to show up to help talk about the benefits of renewables. Common myths include claiming the facility is for a data center, or making up facts to claim a project is unsafe. Unfortunately, these can shut down needed clean energy facilities before they get built.
Batteries help store wind and solar, maximizing the amount of clean power we can use. We need projects like this to meet Michigan’s statewide requirement of 100% clean energy by 2050.
Can you join us at the Van Buren Board of Trustees meeting on September 1 at 6:00 PM ET to voice your support? Details, talking points, and resources are in the link below.
