Michigan Climate Champion Awards

The climate crisis demands not only policy change but a profound cultural transformation. This year, we seek to recognize those who use art, music, poetry, and other cultural works as essential tools for inspiring, connecting, and mobilizing people around a shared vision of a just and resilient future. We are honoring people whose contributions embody the role of CREATIVE EXPRESSION FOR CLIMATE ACTION by demonstrating how artistic works help us break down barriers, foster empathy, and build powerful momentum for change.

1. The Climate Champion Award goes to a professional doing exceptional climate and justice work for an organization, a municipality, or a business in Michigan.
2. The Climate Action Award is presented to an individual who does exceptional climate and justice work as a volunteer for an organization in Michigan. This award recipient receives a $1,000 prize for a non-profit of their choice; and,
3. The Young Climate Leader Award goes to a student or youth who is doing exceptional work as a volunteer or as an individual. This award recipient is granted a $1,000 prize.
