Voices for Carbon Neutrality Meets With University President

MiCAN member Voices for Carbon Neutrality (VCN) acquaints new president at the University of Michigan with major climate issues and urges action.

VCN members stand alongside UofM president and executive vice president.

Three members of the Voices for Carbon Neutrality (VCN), a MiCAN member organization (from left: Larry Junck, M.D., Jane Vogel, and Tom Porter, co-founder of MiCAN), met with new University of Michigan President Santa Ono (far right) and Executive Vice President and CFO Geoffry Chatas (far left) to discuss the University’s commitment to and plans for achieving carbon neutrality. VCN has worked alongside the University for five years to help develop a climate action plan that they hope can serve as a model for other colleges and universities to follow.

"VCN - a group of University of Michigan faculty, staff, and alumni leaders actively advocating for carbon neutrality at U-M - have played an important role in climate action here at UM," President Santa Ono stated in a tweet.
