This open house is a part of the application for the permit process with White River Township. It is to notify the public about the project and offer an opportunity for the White River Township and Muskegon County citizens to interact with the developer to learn about the proposed project, solicit feedback, and ask questions.

About the Project

Join MICAN and our member organization White Lake Area Climate Action Council (WLACAC) to support the Lakeside Solar Project—a 200-megawatt solar development planned for White River Township in Muskegon County.

Learn More

Local clean energy projects like this are essential to achieving net-zero climate goals for the White Lake Area, but have faced significant opposition driven by misinformation about the benefits of the project. This is why community education and advocacy are crucial—and why MICAN members, volunteers and local citizens, are encouraged to attend, learn more, and speak up for clean, renewable energy.

The developer, Geronimo Energy (formerly National Grid Renewables), will host the event, with information stations covering the site location, construction, environmental studies, and economic benefits. Experts will be available for one-on-one conversations, and written public comments will also be collected.
