Join the global movement started by young climate activist Greta Thunberg right here in Michigan calling for action on climate change.
On September 20, three days before the UN Climate Summit in NYC, young people and adults will strike all across the US and world to demand transformative action be taken to address the climate crisis. Millions of us will take the streets to demand a right to a future, and we’re inviting you to #strikewithus.
Don't worry if you do not have "protest signs or gear." Just show up and stand with the youth who are demanding climate change actions take place. Greta Thunberg asks that our governments take a stand. If the children can do this, the adults should be doing this as well and there is no reason not to. The start time is set to occur on people's lunch breaks, however I'm aware not everyone can attend or cut work to do this. Do the best you can. Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who is credited with raising global awareness of the risks posed by climate change, and with holding politicians to account for their lack of action on the climate crisis.
RSVP here to stay in the loop about news, carpools to the event, and other things you can do to #ActOnClimate. Please also RSVP at The Action Network.
If you want to organize a climate strike in your area, register here.
