"Energy 101" will be a talk by two Grand Rapids environmental attorneys, Margrethe Kearney & Bruce Goodman, for individuals who are interested in working for increased renewable energy at all levels, but who do not have a background in how energy generation, sales, and use are regulated in the state of Michigan. The goal of the talk is to increase general knowledge of energy regulation so that advocacy can be more effective. The speakers will make every effort to avoid too much “wonkiness” and provide realistic, understandable, and immediately useful knowledge.
Bruce and Margrethe will address the following topics:
Energy regulation in Michigan
- Obstacles and opportunities for the development of renewable energy at all levels
- Clean energy options available under current law
- Opportunities for legislative change
- Immediately achievable renewable energy goals
This event is organized by Grand Rapids Climate Action & GVSU Climate Change Education Solutions Network.
