EGLE released its draft of the Michigan Healthy Climate Plan, and we now have until March 14 to submit public comments on how it can be improved. We need a solid roadmap to meet our climate goals, and we only have until the comment period ends on March 14th to strengthen this plan. The draft plan is a good start, but not strong enough to meet our carbon neutrality by 2050 goals, and at this point in the climate crisis, we have no time to waste.
Members of the public can email comments or suggested changes at any time to [email protected] or attend a listening session at which everyone will be given an opportunity to give feedback verbally. This event will have a focus on environmental justice. Comments can be made on any item mentioned in the draft Plan or suggestions can be shared on items you believe should be covered but are not currently included.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the information to join the meeting. You must register with this link in order to attend the meeting! We suggest saving this info somewhere it's easy to find for the day of the event.
Find our suggested talking points here.
If you do not have internet access and would like to join by PHONE ONLY please use the following phone number: 636-651-3142, and use conference code 374288. Public comment on the draft plan is open through Monday, March 14. In addition to providing comments at the listening sessions, written comments may be submitted to EGLE[email protected].
