Capitol Connection Webinar: What's New in the Line 5 Tunnel Legal Fight

Enbridge is still moving fast on plans for its Line 5 pipeline tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac. The Canadian oil company has been buying up properties to site the proposed structure, and last month it hired contractors. In the last two weeks, it's filed applications for federal and state agency authorization to start replacing and relocating the 67-year-old pipeline in the tunnel. And in one of these applications, Enbridge asked the Michigan Public Service Commission to rule on its contention that it already has the authority to proceed!

As developments speed up, many are asking questions. What are Commissioners ruling on? Where do things stand in the permit process? How can I get involved, while honoring the Stay Home, Stay Safe order? Why is the case being considered during a pandemic?

MEC is challenging Enbridge in the MPSC case. So we've got the latest answers which we'll share in a special virtual briefing just for supporters like you. Join us to learn what's new in the Enbridge Line 5 tunnel legal fight, with hosts Conan Smith, MEC President & CEO, and Sean Hammond, MEC Policy Director.
