Sign this petition to help prevent the construction of a $1 billion natural gas plant in Michigan

Now is the time for Michigan to lead in the shift to clean, renewable energy. Instead, DTE Energy is proposing to replace its outgoing coal plants with more fossil fuels by building a $1 billion natural gas plant in East China Township, Michigan.

DTE Can Do Better

Building a natural gas plant instead of using wind and solar demonstrates backward, last-century thinking. It also ignores proven, clean energy technologies that would be better for our economy and environment. DTE's current plan seems designed to benefit its shareholders at the expense of its customers and Michigan citizens.

Sign this petition now calling for a forward-thinking energy plan.

To DTE Energy CEO Gerard Anderson:

I'm calling on you to rethink DTE's plan to build a gas-fired power plant. Michigan needs cutting-edge clean energy technologies to grow the economy, create permanent jobs, and protect our environment. Solar, wind and, efficiency can power our grid and will result in lower bills, saving customers hundreds of millions of dollars.

Your gas plant proposal is not the best you can do for Michigan's future. Prioritizing renewable energy now could provide Michigan with an opportunity to lead in an emerging innovation economy. Please send your team back to the drawing board to design an innovative, affordable, modern, and clean plan for Michigan's future.
