The most recent International Panel on Climate Change report tells us the human family needs to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% in just 81 months. At the 2015 Paris Agreement all nations committed to reduce their releases of greenhouse gases (GHGs). Yet globally in 2022 we increased those emissions, thus making the cuts needed now even more dramatic. Since the developed world is largely responsible for the release of those excessive GHGs, how do we assess the responsibilities and possibilities to meet the reduction targets in a just and fair way?

Our program will feature Prof. Roger S. Gottlieb, a leading philosopher looking at environment and spiritual and moral concerns. He is the author or editor of 21 books, most recently Morality and the Environmental Crisis, and more than 150 articles. Dr. Gottlieb will help us reflect on what climate justice requires of us.
