I am part of a recent group of natural resource professionals promoting biochar as a local soil amendment. I serve as the District Forester for the Leelanau, Benzie and Grand Traverse Conservation Districts and the others on the new team are looking for collaboration with other local environmental groups interested in local responses and action to mitigate the stressors of climate change for the ag community and forest landowners. We wondered if we could connect with your group and share our thoughts on using waste from our forests and orchards to produce biochar as a great way to improve our sustainable practices.
