The Michigan Environmental Council invites you to join upwards of 250 political, business, and environmental leaders who are working to protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places we love. At the 25th Annual Awards event, help salute two special activists, one who has shaped the course of Michigan's environmental movement and one who represents the promise of Michigan's environmental future.
Sponsorships begin at $500. General Admission tickets are $100, and Grassroots/Activist tickets are $25.
Donele Wilkins
Helen & William Milliken Distinguished Service Award
Donele Wilkins will receive the Helen & William Milliken Distinguished Service Award for her inspiring dedication over three decades to protecting Detroit residents. Ms. Wilkins has established and led two important organizations, Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice and the Green Door Initiative. These organizations have been vital in driving Detroit towards becoming a cleaner, healthier, and greener city, with a trained green workforce and an engaged civic community.
Tommy Skinner
Petoskey Prize for Environmental Leadership
Petoskey High School student Tommy Skinner will be saluted for his environmental stewardship commitment. Though relatively early in his activism pursuits, he already making a positive impact. His commendable efforts include organizing a student-led initiative to promote renewable energy and reduce his school district’s carbon footprint.
